Customer Success Story : Kamaé

The Cyber month was a real success, with over 200,000 microlearnings carried out by employees of our customers, such as Crédit Agricole and Macif, and over 10,000 fake phishing e-mails sent to test their reflexes, all without any downtime or performance degradation. This operation demonstrated the reliability and performance of Scaleway solutions, reinforcing our conviction to migrate our entire infrastructure.

About the Company

Founded in 2020, Kamaé helps companies reduce their cyber risks with an automated, simple and gamified awareness platform. Its customers include major players such as Crédit Agricole, La Redoute, Macif, and public institutions like the Île-de-France Region.

Challenges

In autumn 2023, on the occasion of Cyber Month, Kamaé experienced a spectacular surge in traffic, growing from thousands to tens of thousands of active users in record time. What's more, with the signing of a contract with a major French insurer in 2024, the security, scalability and availability of the infrastructure became major strategic priorities for the company.
That's why they decided to evaluate other French cloud providers, and ultimately chose Scaleway. The company's offer (serverless containers, MySQL with read-replicas + High Availability, 100% environment creation via Terraform, integrated monitoring via Cockpit, etc.), its support and the significant resources deployed were decisive factors in our choice. According to Kamaé “this cyber month was a success, with over 200K+ micro-learnings carried out by the employees of our customers supported on this operation, notably Crédit Agricole and Macif, as well as 10K+ fake phishing mails distributed to test the reflexes of employees, all without any downtime or performance degradation.”

Solution

To meet these challenges, Kamaé decided to migrate its entire infrastructure to Scaleway. This transition involved the adoption of several advanced services, including Kubernetes (Kapsule) for simplified management of application deployments, as well as managed MySQL databases, offering high availability and read-replicas, placed in a secure VPC to guarantee data security. The use of Terraform enabled three identical environments to be managed and replicated, helping to reinforce the disaster recovery plan (DRP).

Thanks to this migration, Kamaé was able to record a significant increase in the performance and availability of its infrastructure. The developer experience has also been greatly enhanced thanks to the use of Kubernetes and simplified resource management via Terraform.

Future Plans

In the coming months, Kamaé plans to further expand the integration of logs and metrics to gain even greater visibility of its infrastructure's performance. In addition, the company plans to explore Scaleway's GPU instances for advanced simulations and real-time risk analysis, with the aim of continuing to offer ever more efficient and innovative services to its customers.
