Customer Success Story : Soundcharts

“Dedibox offers enabled us to control our costs by ensuring constant linear growth of our expenses, despite the exponential increase in our dataset, while guaranteeing the stability necessary for the continuous improvement of our products.”

About the company

Soundcharts is a data analysis platform for the music industry. It enables artists, labels and managers to track the performance of their music on streaming platforms, social networks and radio stations in real time. The tool provides insights on audience, competition and market trends to optimize music promotion and distribution strategies.

Challenges

Soundcharts collects, cleans, assembles and renders data from all music platforms, social networks and radio stations to provide a suite of tools for industry professionals. At the time, our aim was to industrialize our solution while guaranteeing its security, reliability and scalability. However, the “Elements” offering didn't yet exist, and the cloud solutions available didn't allow us to control our costs effectively.

Results

Soundchart thus opted for Dedibox, starting with the Core range for the deployment of our databases. Their infrastructure currently comprises 70 Dedibox servers, including 5 MySQL clusters, 2 ClickHouse clusters, 1 RabbitMQ cluster, as well as 20 Caddy servers (load balancers and web servers), spread over 3 datacenters. The use of RPN guarantees the security and speed of all traffic between their instances.

Thanks to these choices, their service benefits from a high availability rate (> 99.9%). Scalability is easily ensured by adding new Dediboxes to the infrastructure. Costs increase progressively, enabling Soundcharts to control its budget and plan for the long term. Finally, the new Scaleway ranges offer Soundcharts a serene vision of the future, thanks to their power, reliability and increased storage capacity.

Future plans

Soundcharts is looking forward to the interconnection between the Dedibox private network and the Elements network, which will facilitate the migration of certain services to the Scaleway cloud and reduce the management of certain tasks, such as object storage (JBOD) and load balancers. Their roadmap includes many new functionalities, requiring both qualitative and quantitative improvements to their infrastructure, notably in data storage and artificial intelligence.
