About the company
Synolia is an agency specializing in the consulting and integration of high value-added digital solutions. With many years of experience, we support companies in implementing and optimizing their e-commerce, CRM, PIM/DAM and data projects.
Challenges
Synolia deploys e-commerce and CRM solutions for fast-growing companies and faces a growing need to centralize secrets linked to their business applications and customer projects. Initially, they installed HashiCorp Vault on a server using a Docker and Docker Compose environment. However, faced with increasing demand, they quickly realized that their architecture needed to evolve to ensure its sustainability and comply with best practices.
Results
Today, Synolia relies on Scaleway's Kubernetes, Load Balancer, Compute and Object Storage services to optimize and support its infrastructures. In addition, Scaleway's Cost Manager module gives them precise visibility into their expenses, facilitating cost management thanks to a FINOPS approach integrated with their own monitoring system. This integration also enables them to display this data directly in Grafana for optimal tracking.
Between December 1, 2023 and December 1, 2024, the number of secrets managed almost doubled, with an increase of almost 83%. At the same time, the volume of daily requests for secret retrieval has been multiplied by 20 with success.
Future Plans
Synolia plans to integrate file storage solutions, link its identity provider to Scaleway's IAM service and manage Kubernetes access rights via IAM. At the same time, the company is exploring new opportunities, including IPSec as a service, VPC routing between projects, and the opening of a data center in America to broaden its offering and expand its international presence.
