Iridium dedicated server use cases

Big Data

Big data use cases often require servers with specific capabilities to handle large volumes of data and the processing demands associated with analyzing, storing, and transferring data. To enjoy the optimum business benefits out of big data, choose high-capacity I210E-NVME that combines high-performance CPU, NVMe disks to ensure faster response times and high-speed networking (10Gbps private network).

Virtualisation

Virtualisation requires a powerful multi-core processor, that’s why we configured the I210E with a Powerful Zen 3 AMD EPYC 7313P processor with 16 cores and 32 threads, base clock speed of 3.0 GHz and a boost clock speed of 3.5 GHz. Whichever hypervisor you plan to use, we deliver the best technologies to maximise performance and efficiency of your virtual machines.

Video Processing

Create a stable environment with our Iridium range server to handle intensive workloads associated with encoding, decoding, editing or streaming video content.

Production Applications

Our Iridium range dedicated servers meet most open-source or custom-developed application requirements. Host your production environments including ELK, Kafka, CRM, Zookeeper and Pfsense.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between Iridium range and other Elastic Metal ranges?

Iridium range server I210E-NVME uses the latest hardware: 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ processors and high-speed NVMe disks. We designed this configuration to help you handle a range of high-intensity workloads, including cloud computing, virtualization, and machine learning, at a reasonable price. I210E-NVME also offers additional bandwidth of 10Gbps as an option.

Is Elastic Metal a dedicated server in the cloud?

Elastic Metal is a dedicated server that can be used independently or integrated into your tailored cloud architecture along with other compatible Scaleway products.

What are the other cloud products compatible with Elastic Metal?

You can create a hybrid or private cloud using Elastic Metal with other Scaleway products, including Instances, Load Balancer, Public Gateway, Kubernetes Kosmos or Kapsule, Private Network, flexible IPs…

How am I billed for Elastic Metal servers?

Elastic Metal servers are available on two different billing plans: hourly or monthly. In both cases, you will receive a monthly invoice calculated at the end of each month and based on your resource usage during the month (number of hours used if you selected hourly billing, or the monthly price if you selected monthly billing). However, to benefit from the more advantageous monthly pricing, you will pay a one-time commitment fee equivalent to one month of subscription. To reward your long term commitment, if you rent your Elastic Metal server for more than 12 months, we will give you Scaleway cloud credits equivalent to your commitment fee. Visit this page to learn more how to use the commitment fee payback.
